About the Book :
This book is a collection of speeches and articles of Sadguru Sivananda Murthy garu.
Sadguru Sivananda Murty says : “ What is this Bharateeyata? We have heard that Sanatana Dharma is the basis of our Bharateeya Culture. We have heard that Sanatana Dharma indicates that it has no beginning or end. It is an all time Truth relating to this world.
The Dharma comes from Dharayiti which provides a platform to human life on this earth. How old is our culture? How ancient is our history? Who are the authors of this Sanatana Dharma? We can only understand a country’s culture with a historical perspective. But Bharateeyata and Sanatana Dharma cannot be understood this way since history can only help us to know the antiquity of a culture to a period not long before the Christian Era. Our culture is much anterior to Ithihasas Ramayana and Mahabharatha or even the Scriptures.
Puranas speak about the great characters around which great events are woven which speak about Sanatana Dharma. We worship Rama and Krishna who lived in Sanatana Dharma… Rama was the personification of Dharma. Ramo’ Vigrahavin Dharmah. He was God among men, a human being among gods. Greatest human beings are worshiped in this land…. Rama was an ideal ruler. Rama-Rajya is our ideal for governance. Personality of Lord Rama should reflect in the governance of the country.
Everyone need not worship Rama but one should emulate him irrespective of one’s color, cast, religion etc. The men in government should not act out of fear, for any personal gain, or out of any prejudice or hatred. The citizens should also act on these lines to get good governance. Dharma is all pervading. It should be reflected in thought, word and action. In Western culture, everything is right in love and war.
In Sanatana Dharma, love has a dharma and war has a dharma. Everything is not right. Voice of Dharma has to be heard in the inner core. Our heart should develop attitude of listening to the voice of Dharma”
